We interviewed Hayakawa Yu, a Japanese Man from Osaka, Japan, about 3.11.
日本人で大阪で生まれたはやかわゆうさんを3.11についてインタビューしました。
1. Because of the Tohoku Earthquake (3.11), are you more cautious of natural disasters? How do/did you feel about the concerns over Hurricane Florence approaching the East Coast? Will you/did you prepare at all? Why or why not?
東北震災があったから、しぜんさいがいにもっと気(き)をつけるようになりましたか。ハリケーンフローレンスをどう思いましたか。どんな用意(ようい)をしましたか。
A: I did not experience it but, I am more wary of natural disasters. I thought hurricane Florence was very strong. I'm sure people in Statesboro did not experience hurricane Florence. Many students did not make any preparations.
経験しませんでしたが、自然災害にもっと気をつけます。ハリケーンフロレンスはとても強いと思いました。ステイツボロ人はフロレンスをけいけんしなかったでしょう。たくさんの学生はよういをしませんでした。ゆう先生も何もしませんでしたが、家にいました。
2. Did you ever get scammed? (Did fake volunteers ever steal your money when you were in Japan after the disaster?)
にせのボランティアにお金を取られましたか。
A. After the earthquake there were fake volunteers, but he did not have my money stolen. He said that his friends and some family members probably were stolen from.
震災後に日本でにせのボランティアがありましたけど、お金を取られませんでした。友達や家族はたぶん取られたと言いました。
3. Are affected students’ education better now or still not good?
影響を受けた学生の教育はもう良くなりましたか。まだ良くないですか。
A. The affected students education has gotten better now.
影響を受けた学生の教育はもうよくなりました。
4. Are there any memorials or special ways to remember the people lost to the disaster?
毎年この大震災に何か特別な式は行われますか。
A. There is a special event in Fukushima to honor the people who died because of the disaster. Every year on March 11th the Fukushima, Miyagi, and Iwate Prefectures there is a silent ceremony. After this, prefecture governor gives a speech.
福島で災害で死んだ人のために記念の行事があります。毎年3月11日に福島県と宮城県と岩手県でもくとうする式があります。もくとう後、県知事はスピーチをします。
5. Why do you think kids were bullied because they experienced the earthquake?
なぜ東日本震災で子供たちがいじめられたと思いますか。
A. When many of the local children transferred to a school in Tokyo, I think the Tokyo students did not want to be around the children who were exposed to radiation.
現地の子供たちの多くは、東京都の学校に転校した時、 東京都の学生たちは原発事故によって放射線を浴びた子供の周りにいたくなかったからだと思いました。
6. What were the immediate after effects of the earthquake for you?
地震直後のゆうさんへの影響はどうでしたか。
A. Because I was in Osaka, there was no effect.
大阪にいたので、何の影響もありませんでした。
7. Do you know anyone who was affected by the earthquake?
地震の影響を受けた人を知っていますか。
A. Yes, my friend, Watanabe-san.

8. Do you know how much aid was given from foreign countries?
外国からどのぐらいの支援が寄せられたのか分かりますか。
A. I do not.
